Summer
2024 Info...
everything you need to know
Summer is one of my favorite times for Arete Volleyball, because it’s when we can take time to really break down our volleyball skills, and make some amazing progress in our Arete Program. We get to come back together and PLAY, while getting ready for the next season ahead of us. It really is where the magic happens.

July 15th - 18th
Summer camps at Arete are one of the funnest times of the year! It’s a time to truly learn the skills of volleyball, grow in friendships, and get ready for the upcoming season.
I highly recommend ALL girls who are planning on coming out for volleyball this fall season, come to our summer camp (regardless of skillset). We will have skill set work for everyone!
Our Middle School Camp is open to incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.
We will also have a Chargers in Training camp for our incoming 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th graders the same week.

This camp is for ALL incoming 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, regardless of skill. We will separate girls into skill groups so they will get the most out of this camp.

FAQs
If my daughter is doing other camps this summer, should she still come to this one?
Yes! Please! No matter what camps your athletes are attending, I would love to see them at our Arete Camp. Not only is this camp for skills, it’s also for team bonding. Being away all summer, this is the start to getting back together before our season fully kicks into gear.
What if my daughter is already skilled in volleyball, does she really have to come?
100%! We will be breaking all the girls into skills groups. While we will breakdown and go over the basics, as we progress, we will be putting girls together with other girls that will push her to become even better. Everyone can learn more in this camp, and it will also help us as coaches to see who will be coming out this season for volleyball so we can better prepare for our tryouts.
Is there a limit to how many can come?
Unfortunately, yes. We only have gym space for a max of 36 girls. We want to be able to give our full attention, so we will be capping both camps at 36.
What if my daughter has never played volleyball. Will she feel behind?
No!!! She will fit right in. This camp is for all skill levels, especially our girls who have never played. We will help her with her technical skills so she can continue to grow in them for the rest of the year!
Can I sit and watch at the camps?
We actually have a closed door policy for camps. #1, we just have way too many girls coming and not enough space. #2, the girls preform and focus better when parents aren’t around. We will have a time for all parents to join and watch at the end of camp, so be on the lookout for that info!
Can I invite a friend to come?
Absolutely. This isn’t just for Arete Students. If you have a friend who would like to join, they are more than welcome. Just have them register above.
Who will be coaching the girls?
We will have a mix of our Middle School Staff, High School Staff, and high School Athlete volunteers helping out. So each girl will get a lot of one on one attention!
Open Gyms are currently scheduled for April and a little of May. Open Gyms are open to incoming 6th graders through current 8th graders, unless otherwise stated.
We encourage whoever can come to attend! These are skill based, and fun times, to get touches. We will try to split girls up into skill level so that play will help them improve and grow.
All dates for Open Gyms are updated regularly on our Band App. Parents and Players, if you are not on our Middle School Band App, please join now. Please check it regularly for info and dates of events.
Open gyms will be minimal in May and June due to Coach Jarman’s upcoming knee surgery and our gym closure. But please pay attention to the band app because if opportunities come around in June for play, we will post there.
FALL SEASON
Our Fall Season is going to come fast... it always does. Tryouts will be around the second week of school, with a Pre-Season Camp the first full week of school. We ask that all athletes trying out for volleyball attend our pre-season camp so that they are ready for tryouts.
Spread the word and share with anyone interested in playing.
We will continue to update the band app with pertininent information, so please make sure you continue to check there.
We will not know our schedule until 1-2 weeks into the season, so please bear with us as we work on getting that set up!
Practices for Fall Season will depend on what team your child makes. We will be practicing 2-3 times a week, right after school, until 5:30 PM. As we figure out our game schedule, we will be able to get a more set schedule for practices. All practices will be on the Band Calendar.
Middle School Volleyball Band app
Most of our communication in the off season, as well as the season itself, is in our Band App. We ask that parents and players join the app and utilize it often. All pertinent communication will be there first, along with schedules of all events & group chats for parents and students with coaches.
